David Voss COMMITTEE MEMBER David Voss is the CEO of member organisation Gladstone Industry Leadership Group. The organisation represents the interests of 7 of the largest industrial businesses in the Gladstone region. Advocacy and community engagement including working with the local supply chain is a key focus. David has been in this role for almost three years. Prior to this David has also worked for several Government organisations and spent over 20 years in the aviation industry. David is also the owner and operator of Gladstone Region Snake Catchers and has a passion for community programs. Becoming a member of the GCCI committee has provided me with opportunities to engage with all levels of our business community and has enabled me to become more involved in local business activities. Charmaine Bennett TREASURER Having made a significant move from South Africa to Gladstone in 2014, she brings with her over 30 years of experience spanning the corporate, private, and not-for-profit sectors. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of collaborating with individuals from all backgrounds, enriching her understanding of global perspectives. Charmaine's mission is clear: streamline the integration journey for the multicultural community in Central Queensland. Her commitment extends to the GCCI Board, where she seeks to make a tangible difference in the lives and businesses she serves.

Brie James COMMITEE MEMBER Brie James is a co-director of Happier, Healthier – Nutrition and Dietetics, along with Kimberly May. As Accredited Practicing Dietitians they aim to provide an accessible and approachable service to the Gladstone Region. Brie grew up in southeast Queensland and moved to Gladstone to pursue her career in nutrition & dietetics after recognising a gap in regional services. On the weekend she loves to hang out with her partner and fur family in some of the beautiful locations Gladstone has to offer.

Samantha Devers PRESIDENT Samantha Devers is the owner and founder of bookkeeping business, Small Biz HQ. A Gladstone local, she has lived and worked in the Gladstone area for almost her entire life in various fields of employment. After the birth of her last baby, she dove into self-employment and has developed a passion for small business. A certified professional bookkeeper and BAS Agent, Sam and the team at Small Biz HQ work together with their clients to organise, systemise and understand their business numbers so that they can achieve their goals and live the small business, big life way. Becoming a member of the GCCI committee has given her opportunities to meet and learn from other local businesses and she is excited to attend the Best in Business Awards for the first time in 2022. Gladstone Chamber of Commerce & Industry took over the coordination and delivery of the awards in 2020, and over the past five years we have seen a huge growth in the awards’ popularity, evidenced by the support of our local business community. Our committee takes great pride in delivering our region’s premier business awards night – but it is so much more than that. On the first Saturday in November, and in front of over 450 guests, we present 18 awards to celebrate the achievements and successes of organisations that help make the Gladstone Region a vibrant community in which to live, work and play. The annual 2025 Business Expo will be an opportunity for Gladstone Region businesses, of all shapes and sizes, to showcase their products and services, and connect with one another and the wider community, creating future opportunities for collaboration. In recognition of Small Business Month QLD, the 2025 Business Expo will held on 1 May. The event attracts over 50 businesses, not-for-profit and government organisation exhibitors along with over 500 attendees from throughout the Gladstone Region. The event last year included a small business panel discussion featuring the 2024 Best in Business winners, a series of lucky door prizes for visitors (sourced from local businesses), a pre-expo warm up session for exhibitors on and a post-expo exhibitor networking drinks.
